help grow our vision
Providing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Menstrual Health Managment (MHM) and inclusion solutions in rural Cambodian schools.
Since project 1 was completed in 2016 over $430,000 has been raised and spent in 90 schools - helping more than 20,000 students and teachers. This includes: 40 water tanks and pumps, 200+ toilets built or converted to support MHM and 100 urinals (to provide greater access to toilets for female teachers and students) and 160+ hand basins installed or renovated.
We have learnt that lasting change comes from maintaining and improving school sanitation, not just building new facilities. Today, our work focuses on three practical outcomes:
Renovate and build school toilets
We renovate existing toilets by repairing structures, painting and tiling, installing running water, handbasins and urinals, and providing Menstrual Health Management kits. Where schools need additional facilities, we build new toilets. Our goal is a minimum of one toilet or urinal for every 35 students.
Maintain what we have built
More than 90 schools are now part of our programme. We inspect facilities to ensure they remain safe and functional. School principals receive funding for minor repairs, while larger maintenance works are completed by local contractors.
Support Cambodian teachers
Sustainable change depends on local knowledge. Through our bilingual website and practical workshops, Cambodian teachers access training and resources on Menstrual Health Management, school first aid, toilet maintenance, and school waste management, helping them create healthier learning environments for their students.
Together we're making a real difference. Thank you!
